“One chapter closes - and another begins” - This is something that people who frequently change their places or their lives often relate to...and why shouldn’t they? For they have taken on a new Odyssey - bringing an end to the old one - they march out to greater seas to attain much more out of their lives.
But what about the people who are left behind in time? The loved ones they adore and claim to have become their family? The friends who were thought of as people they couldn’t live without? Where does all that go? Yes, life goes on, and so do we ….and it’s the bond that is carried, and strengthened with time.
I am not writing all this in agitation or agony…nor am I doing this in sadness or remorse of any kind - I am only writing this because I got present to a very similar situation recently, and the feelings that surrounded me at that particular moment in time – the last hug and the final goodbye – I was motionless…I didn’t know what was going on, but I wanted it to stop – and sadly, it didn’t!
I knew Arpit Jain for the last 2 years – he was a colleague, who eventually became a friend – and then a room-mate …..And as often it so happens….you tend to fall in love with your room mate, and if he is as sweet and caring and as loving as Arpit, well.., you get the meaning! J
So here’s to the 2 years that we happily spent together – to those funny moments we laughed at together, to the moments where one of us got weak and the other showed support - to the never-ending bike rides we had together, and to the long-lasting discussion and argument sessions. Also, here’s to a long and bright future that both of us will witness and share, and to the never-ending bond that will only grow stronger and stronger. And finally, here’s to an exceptional friend, and even more importantly, an extraordinary Human-Being!
