Food For The Soul

Food for the soul

I once read somewhere: “People who understand food, understand hunger”, and I thought to myself….what NonSense! Why will anyone who understands food and loves to eat will ever need to know what hunger is or how it feels? I mean….he will eventually be filled up before he could even realize that he is hungry, now isn’t it? Yes, that’s Common Sense.  But BOY! Was my common sense highly mistaken!

Welcome to the world of the Hungry. Here, people love food – they will do anything to get food – but there’s a catch – they simply CAN’T afford it.

According to the recent survey by UNICEF, over 85% of the children in most of the villages of our country are Malnourished – this simply means that even though we project a robust economy with 9 per cent annual growth, there isn’t enough food for all, and whatever quantity there is, it is simply unaffordable by most. It is at times like these that one sits and thinks of ways to overcome such serious and mind-devastating issues – After all, this is how organisations such as WHO and UNICEF were born.

One such organization that is waiting to be born is “Food for the Soul”. I don’t know what it will be called once its official, but I’ll stick to this name since I like it :) Anyway, Food for the soul is a simple thought with a simple mission – Feed The Hungry….I don’t know how – I don’t know why? I’ll let the thinkers do their math, while I wait and see the results. All I am trying to do here is to create awareness about this serious issue that is engulfing the entire globe – along with the fact that every individual has the capacity to make a difference, and so do YOU!

If you think you can help, all you need to do is to create a facebook account (if you don’t have one already), and go to this link: Food For The Souls. Once there, all you need to do is to hit the “Join” button, and you’re part is done. It is that Simple.

I am in no way related to any activity that this group has performed or will perform in the near future. I am spreading the word just because I like appreciating good work, and this is indeed GOOD work. Let’s give these boys a chance to make a difference to the world….let’s help them give “Food For The Soul”!
