Are You A Superhero?

Ever wondered what it was like to be a super hero? To be actually in a state of possession of those mystical powers that gave you an extra edge over the others - to be in the state of art to do almost anything insanely possible? Well, I don't want to sound too cliche', but provided the kind of movies coming out this summer, one is bound to think this way!

I was lucky enough (or you could say idle enough) to be able to watch two cool flicks back to back this Monday. First stop was Hancock, a tale about a drunkard superhero, who finds love in the most unusual of ways, and then is forced to leave it behind - for good! What I liked about Hancock was the fact that he was an unlikely hero, but still cared enough to save the day, even if it meant damaging the property worth million of dollars, and all the thankless people hating him. But he didn't care enough, because all he had to do was save the day - and he did! And when its Will Smith playing Hancock, you better expect something really good....

                  Hancock V/S Kung Fu Panda

Next stop was Kung Fu Panda, a heroic tale of a dumb, but funny Panda, who learns the art of Kung Fu, and defeats the enemy. Po, the panda, could be the most unlikely hero, who would step into the picture and save the day, for he only dreamt of it, but never could actually implement it - He couldn't see his own toes, for crying out loud, let alone hitting some one with them. But He did, and he did well!

What I most liked about the movie was the fact that it dealt its cards really well. I mean, you don't go to a movie thinking what message is it gonna pass out....but if you do get the message, and the message is beautiful, all you do is applaud!  Kung Fu Panda told me in my face to "Just Believe". You see, the secret ingredient in the secret ingredient noodle soup is that there is no secret ingredient at all. Anything you believe in becomes special by itself, and there is no need for the secret ingredient anymore. Pretty amazing, considering the fact that it all came out of a fat Panda. :P

There was another thing that took me back while watching the movie, in a good way that is. A turtle named Master Ugway said something remarkable, which I thought was simply awesome, given the price I paid for the tickets! He said, "Yesterday is history, and tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, and that is why it is called Present".

So, I came home pondering over what a beautiful day I had, and when I looked at it, my day was good because I believed it to be good. There isn't anything we can't do, and the methodology for doing any task is the same, and simple too....All you need to do is to just believe that you can do it, and then do it. The secret ingredient will automatically stir up your task, and your life - and you will become your very own SuperHero!

So, where are you gonna fly today, eh?

@Anusha: Rajnikanth could have never been able to carry out what Will Smith can, and ya, the Indian Special Effects team suck really bad....didnt you see the fate of Love Story 2050?
Being patrioatic is different, but being Biased is bad!

@Cinderella: I liked the fact that you dropped into my blog....keep dropping in again and again ;)

ssa G,

liked the way you put it.I have seen both and agree with you that Rajnikanth would never do something like Will smith...and yep special effects are still of stone age in
India.

have to agree with anusha too...our movies also convey these same messages.

Unknown said...

@Gunjan: All the thanks and applauds to you for making me see it.

@Sameera: The Pleasure is all mine. :)

@V: ssa V, and thanks for agreeing with me too....But hindi movies donot give the lessons that Kung Fu Panda did....they preach more about family values and stuff, which is good in their own way! But glad to know that you paid heed.
And yes, thanks for coming, and reading....hoping to see more of your visits.

@V: Thanks a ton brother.

@Anusha: I am not annoyed. I just said that Rajnikant can never do what Will Smith does....And yes, Indian films teach us family values, which I dont think the hollywood people can do....so both are cool....and I love watching both....I understand ur patriotism....but like I said before, Patriotism is best when its not Biased!

And had they stopped you back then, You wouldnt have had the wonderful memories of that particular birthday of your. What Say?

//Ever wondered what it was like to be a super hero?

I was nodding away when I read this! :D

The 'message' part has been written so well :)
We don't go to movies thinking what message they'll dish out, and the same goes for blogs.
But when you do come across beautiful lines such as these

//Anything you believe in becomes special by itself, and there is no need for the secret ingredient anymore

all you do is, applaud! so here goes..
*clap, clap, clap*
:)

@bhai with chai:

@gagan

watch dark knight because this film is ultimately the best of the 2008 for me,loved it .This film flat out deserves to win Oscars for best picture and best actor (Heath Ledger) as well as best cinematography.several scenes of the joker and batman will be fixed in ur memory forever.Every scene is so well crafted and executed. The score that plays through the entire movie, adds an eerie tone to the movie that helps the Jokers character! The single high note that plays while a new scene is being introduced, its just brilliant! It emotes so much tension, that you sit at the edge of your seat, waiting for the next scene to begin! Needless to say, the Joker was the star of the show! one sad realization that i left the theater. Heath Ledger, the actor portraying the frighteningly chilling villain, Joker, has passed away and will be unable to receive his Oscar, which I have little to no doubt he will win.

SATSRIYAKAL PRAJEE!!
UR BLOG POST WAS GUD...

Unknown said...

@Sameera: How sweet and thoughtful of you to do that. I really really appreciate!

@V: SSA V,
I know that Heath Ledger is no more, actually, I know this since the day he passed away. You see, I was a great fan of his. Anyhow, I have no doubts that Heath Ledger will win an oscar this year....and it will go down in the Guiness Book Of World records too, for he will be the only actor to get an oscr after his death. I am sure he is brilliant, and I cant wait to see The Dark Knight!
